A view of Lake Lure.  A cabin overlooking the lake needs a proper foundation.  The back wall of this foundation is also a retaining wall for a very steep slope. The retaining block wall is laced with vertical and horizontal re-bar, locked in with concrete producing a wall that is less likely to develop cracks than a wall that is poured concrete only.

Stacked and curvy.....
Terraced walls add interest and versatility to a slope. This stone retaining wall resembles a dry stack stone wall.  Concealed in this wall are multiple tie-backs (supports) and a French drain to drain water from behind wall.

Pennsylvania Blue Stone is what gives this patio its distinctive look. Blue Stone is a good choice for patios and walkways because of its smooth surface.  The sitting bench is dry stacked stone with gray Crab Orchard cap stone.  This patio is low maintenance and will last for many years.

Mixing it up!  In this design, the brick house is accented with cultured stone. "Cultured stone" is man-made.  It is lighter than regular stone and can be used indoors or outdoors.

Fireplaces are not just brick or stone.  This is an example of "polished block", a concrete block that has been sanded and polished.

Building the Arch requires skill and experience and when complete it is a thing of beauty. Arches add unique sense of style to your home or garden.

Stairway from Heaven

Getting to the lake was a problem.  Problem solved. This stairway, in progress, maneuvers down a very steep hillside with multiple landings for taking in the view.
